Thanks For The Welcome

Thanks to all of the bloggers who left comments on my blog. I know I shouldn't be so nieve(did spell check and still don't know if this is right). I know to many tech's.
But really it feels ok. I'm good with it.

My husband rocks. He is terrific. That's all I am going to say but I just had to get that out. God knew exactly what I needed and he gave me that and more.

Today I am going to do some housework. What an unending job. It's always there. But I love the feeling when it's done. I want to get another chapter read in the book I am reading. I am reading the Preachers Daughter by Beverly Lewis. I was at the library one day and found her books under inspirational and started reading them. I have now read them all and this is her latest one. They are all about amish families. There life is so different than mine. Simple, but not easy. I will write more about this later because it is interesting to me.
Tonight I am going to Rachels girls night out with Sara and Angela. I am looking forward to it. I have heard about it in the past and wanted to go but never have. So tonight will be fun.

I agree Jeremy, it is hard to know how to sign off.

No Where To Hide

I have been outed. I don't know how this happened. You all have found my blog. Who did this. I really created this blog for me to use to work on my writing skills. I have never been a good writer. In highschool english was my worst subject. I did well in speech. No surprises there, I am a pretty good talker. But to write. Not so good. So what happens. I marry a man who is exceptional at writing and we homeschool our kids. No, english is not an elective. Last semester at CMC Alex took an english class and the instructor told them to just write. Not even worry about all the essentials being there but just to write. Then I heard Kim say that she liked writing on her blog because she could type and edit quickly. So maybe this is the ticket for me. Now that you all know I feel alot of pressure. It takes me forever just to write an announcement for Elicia to put in the bulletin.

We have had a great week of school. The boys have worked hard and stayed on track. Love those kind of weeks so today we are going to lunch. Brendon wants to try the new thing they have at Taco Bell. Every time he sees the commercial his mouth waters. That boy loves to eat. And we are going to run some errands and they want to roam around Scheels(sp?) for awhile. Yesterday, after they finished there school work Larry had asked them to put some more gravel on the lane since it was going to be nice.
We looked extremely rednecked. We had our old truck which we use for projects only. We call it old brownie. Its not much to look at but that truck has been good to me. It has been my ticket to getting alot of things done that would not have been possible with out brownie. So anyway, here we were. Two boys in the back and me driving with a dog and a 3 year old in the cab.
Last week Brendon and I went to get some gravel for the lane. We were on the interstate heading towards the Boonvile gravel pit in old brownie with the dog with us again. As we passed the Waukee entrance ramp a beautiful red fabulous Dodge Viper pulls up right beside us. Brendon went crazy, he loves cars, I was looking at it as it pulled up beside us because it really is a cool car(I have way to much knowledge about cars-I live in a house full of testosterone, even our dogs are boys) All of the sudden the man driving the car looked up at us and Brendon and I laughed because we realized at the same time what we must have looked like. Maybe someday we will have to retire old brownie and replace him but right now with spring once again approaching a convertible is a little higher on my list.
We have a busy weekend coming up. They all seem that way. But I have caught myself two days in a row asking God what he has for me that day. No, it's not first thing in the morning but getting closer. I always have a plan. I wouldn't be me if I didn't but I want to live in the power of the Holy Spirit doing all I do through Christ. I love plans. I really like to look forword to things. But what I love even more is hearing from God something that he has for me to do. I want to be more concerned with him checking things off his list.

So welcome to my life, such as it is. Full of a husband, kids, homeschooling, dogs, old trucks and most importantly wanting to be more like Jesus.

Define need

The weekend was busy. I don't really mind busy as long as I have the time to recoup. Friday night we had a children ministry meeting. I enjoy our meetings mainly because there is usually lots of laughing. We have a great team. Very creative and lots of fun. God has put together a unique team. We really do have everything we need. We have people who are gifted at leading worship, building relationships with kids, characters in skits, taking a theme or message and really laying it out for the kids so they can take it home and use it immediately, organizers, bargain shoppers, administrator and someone to keep the big picture in front of us all so we know what direction we are heading. I love that. God really does know what we need and he provides it for us. Here comes the hard part. We have to use it. If we don't use it we will think we need something else or more of one thing and always feel like we lack
We must become better at using the gifts in people that God has placed in them. Gifts to serve, motivate, teach, encourage, direct, guide, administrate, etc, I love learning about the motivational gifts that God has given to the body. It helps me to understand how to better work with people. And let's face it, you cannot avoid working with people. And the more you know about them and understand them the more they will enjoy working with you.

Well on to the weekend. Saturday we had a work day at the church. We painted the Superchurch room and it feels so much better. A fresh start. Who doesn't love a fresh start. Saturday night we got home late and it had been a hard day for our dogs being cooped up in there kennels all day so we stayed home and crashed.

Sunday we went to church in the morning. It was family Sunday which means it's casual day. For us on the worship team that means we can wear jeans. I love options. After church we ran home and cleaned the toothpaste off the mirrors and picked up to get ready for Kinzies birthday party. Layne, Sara and Mariah came out to help. That was great.
Kinzie had a great party. There was lots of people there and she raked in the gifts
She is 3 now. Three is a fun age. One of my favorites. She and I are looking forward to spring. She is going to have her own little garden area. I think we will plant her some fast growing things like lettuce and stuff she can see quickly.
Sunday night after everyone left I watched a hallmark movie. I enjoy them. They area always feel good movies.

Yesterday I caught up on laundry. I litterly did laundry all day and in between loads made up new school schedules and checked work. It feels so good to be caught up and to know Larry once again has clean cloths.
